Welcome to the official recap blog of Meg and David’s wedding weekend in Waco! Try saying that five times fast 😉.
Meg grew up in Waco, so the town holds a special place in her heart. I loved seeing her smile as we meandered around the church and she reminisced with Bridesmaids. Rest assured, Meg was in her happy place.
Meg surprised David by walking down the aisle to “We Will Feast in the House of Zion,” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (including David!).
Mark this as my official request to bring back formal church exits. Thank you.
Afterwards, Meg, David and I escaped for couple’s portraits – without a doubt my favourite part of the day. The weight of the ceremony was lifted off their shoulders, and all that was left to do was enjoy the evening!
Meg and her family have deep roots to Baylor University, so there was no better option than a reception at Baylor Stadium! The new Nanningas are also big movie lovers, so each table featured a VHS tape of a favorite movie. As guests entered, they grabbed their name cards which were nestled among popcorn kernels, and they were welcome to pick up a bag of popcorn on their way out!
The night was filled with unique moments, but one of my favourites was watching guests cut the cakes placed at each of their tables! And if you’re wondering, yes, it was as tasty as it looked.
The dance floor was packed all night long, just how Meg and David like it. They ended the night with a stunning performance of “My Heart Will Go On,” and exited to a stream of bubbles!
Mr. and Mrs. Nanninga, this is a wedding day I won’t soon forget. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!
