get to know me
Like many of the best relationships, Anna Beth and Matt’s began as a friendship. They met while pursuing their PhDs in Economics at Clemson University. Anna Beth is a Birmingham native, and Matt grew up in South Georgia. Somewhere along the way, friendship turned into something more. One day, Anna Beth asked Matt to go on a walk at one of her favorite spots, and as they say, the rest is history!

Spending an afternoon with these two made it easy to see why they fit so well together. They are effortlessly in love and always making each other laugh without even trying. We spent the first part of their engagement session wandering through the Botanical Gardens beneath cloudy skies, laughing our way from one corner of the gardens to the next. Between Anna Beth’s joyful spirit and Matt’s easygoing nature, the session felt so natural and fun.

Then, just when we thought the weather might keep things muted for the evening, the clouds parted! We headed up to Crest Road and were rewarded with one of the prettiest sunsets Birmingham has to offer. The warm light, the rolling views, and these two wrapped up in each other made for the perfect ending to the session.

I already know their December wedding at B&A Warehouse is going to be something special! With the talented team at AK Brides planning the day, it’s sure to be beautiful, but more importantly, it will be a celebration of two people who genuinely enjoy doing life together. Anna Beth and Matt, I cannot wait to photograph the next chapter of your story!
